Discipleship Ministry


"And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers

For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of body of Christ: " (Ephesians 4:11-12)


The function of the Discipleship Ministry is to plan and oversee the development of all discipleship programs and events throughout the church year. The ministry convenes the fourth Thursday of each month to plan, resource, and evaluate the scheduled activities.

The Discipleship Ministry is responsible for assisting each member Ministry to maintain its focus on the mission and annual theme of the church, and to assist in maintaining oversight of the Discipleship programs.

The Discipleship Ministry develops and executes an annual budget that addresses the needs of all Discipleship Ministries and events planned during each year.

Discipleship programs and events include the Church School, Father Abraham's Many Children's Church, Men's Ministry, Sisters' Ministry, Seniors' Ministry, Young Adult Ministry, Children & Youth Ministry, Home Builders' Ministry Nursery Ministry, Deacons' Edification & Leadership Development Training Ministry, Vacation Bible School, Retreats, Revivals, and Black History Month Observances.
